Swayspace partners running NYC Marathon 2007 to fight cancer
Willy
My first experience witnessing Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Fred's Team was during the 2005 New York City Marathon. As I stood outside MSKCC on First Avenue, the energy exuded by the runners, patients, and staff was catching, and I determined right then and there that I had to run the next year.
In 2006 my run was about endurance. All I wanted to do was finish. And I did: a time of 4:38:49 put me in a solid 24,089th place.
For 2007 I am focusing more on my performance, and I am gunning for a sub-4-hour time, but I'll be happy if I can average a 10-minute-mile pace. Wish me luck!
